It's a cliche, I know. But this whole dream of having a grooming parlour for little dogs set up at my home, has been a dream for well over 12 years!!
I will be sharing blogs about my build in the future too, as that has been a journey! But for now the inside of my little grooming space is being kept under wraps so I can do a big (little) reveal at my grand opening event! đ
Over 12 years ago, I gave up my share in a grooming parlour and quit my job to stay home with my newborn son. I knew that I could ALWAYS go back to grooming, but I could NEVER come back to my newborn baby. And right then, it was decided that "one day" I would just have to open a little grooming parlour at home where I could do both.
Cue moving towns, more babies, and life in general, the dream has just stayed on standby and hasn't happened, until now!
Don't get me wrong, being an employee over the past years with young kids at home has been SO GOOD! I could go to work, groom the dogs and do the job I loved, then go home, and get paid! đ
But it is time now, my youngest baby is 6, she's past that relentless baby/toddler/preschooler age, and I am ready to finally put my dreams in to reality.
My husband has done all of the work, save that that is required to be done by electricians and plumbers, and it's all coming together. It's taken us almost a year of tinkering away, saving money and tinkering some more, until we finally could safely give an opening date. And here we are!!!
I have been advertising for two weeks now and already have over 60 dogs signed up and booked in with me, my first three weeks open are already fully booked, and everyone is booking in recurring appointments so my whole year is filling up. I'm feeling emotional and overwhelmed by it all. It is one thing to tell myself people will come, but it's another thing to have it actually happen!!

I will endeavour to get some more blogs written up soon, I have so many plans!!
