February/March
Well! The door arrived finally!!!! Omg SO EXCITING!!!
It's HEAVY, as its double glazed, and actually Adrian and I struggled to get it off the trailer and inside ourselves, but we did manage it in the end. We needed to cut to the concrete to get it set in to place, so an awesome builder friend came by and help us with doing that properly and now I have a door!
Later the metal doors were removed and we hung a sheet on the inside to hide it from view.
Now it gets exciting as we had been held up by this door! We realise now that everything is starting to come together quickly, and so I officially give my notice at Baarkers. It’s going to be weird to end there, but I am excited for what we are building at home! With giving my notice there, I have officially advertised myself for bookings and have been utterly overwhelmed by the response of everyone who wants to book in with me! 🥰
The building consent is approved to go ahead with the drains and plumbing, I buy the gas califont and various other things and we have the plumbers come and put it all in! There was some stress with the flue as the company didn’t sell the whole flue kit we needed, but after a load of stress and more costs we get it sorted and we get the first stuff signed off by the council.
Now we start playing with building the desk, shelves and the gate
And I also get to start to figure out the colours I want! I originally wanted a really pale purple on the walls, but actually it’s REALLY bright in there, like it’s glaringly bright, so I realise I need it to NOT be a very pale colour, so I need to decide on a nice brighter purple that isn’t too pink-ish nor too blue, nor too bright or too pale…. I think I nailed it!
Oh my gosh it’s SO EXCITING! It’s all coming together!!!! Ok so this photo the gate is just sitting there and we haven’t got the consent signed off yet and there is still so much to do…. And the weeks are counting down now to my last day at Baarkers, there is only a couple of weeks to go! Eeeep!!
